Michael DiMattia
Michael was born in Clearwater, Florida. He graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at Palm Harbor University High School in May 2003 as salutatorian of his class and matriculated at the University of Florida in Fall 2003.
He joined the McKenna lab in Spring 2004 under the direct guidance of former graduate student, Dr. Hazel Levy, and now works on elucidating the AAV5 cell surface receptor region and antigenic sites to facilitate greater opportunity for gene therapy treatment of cystic fibrosis.
Michael intends to obtain an MD, a Ph.D, or both, within the next 10 years or so. Probably.
