Iyerus Tariku

Iyerus was born in Gondar, Ethiopia and moved to the United States in 1995. She attended Felix Varela Senior High in Miami. She plans to attend medical school after receiving her B.S. in Bio-Chemistry in 2007. She is also minoring in African Studies at the University of Florida.

Her undergraduate research involves the isolation and characterization of a mosquito Carbonic Anhydrase.

During her spare time, Iyerus enjoys cooking and dancing.
