Brittney Gurda

Brittney’s undergraduate training started at UCF in Orlando, Fl on a pre-vet track. During various internships and jobs in veterinarian clinics she was turned onto the laboratory setting and clinical research.

In 2003 she moved to North Florida to attend UF and changed her major to Microbiology and Cell Science. She did undergraduate research in Dr. Mavis Agbandje-McKenna’s lab in her last year and after graduation in 2004 she worked as a full-time laboratory technician until her acceptance into the IDP in the fall of 2005.

Her PhD research focuses on Adeno-Associated Virus capsid-antibody interactions for use as gene therapy vectors.
