Mission Statement The Center for Traumatic Brain Injury Studies will conduct an integrated laboratory and clinical program focusing on the development of therapies to treat traumatic brain injury (TBI) both acutely and in survivors of brain injury. Laboratory programs will include studies of the basic pathobiology of TBI and related insults including ischemia and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Clinical programs will include formal assessments of novel therapies to treat mild, moderate and severe TBI, epidemiological studies of the incidence of TBI and relationships between mechanisms of injury, injury severity, treatment and outcome. |
