CITS Mission StatementsOverall Mission StatementThrough a collaboration with other UF faculty and staff support units, the Mission of the MBI-UF CITS is to help maintain a state of the art computing and information technology environment and specialized technical services which efficiently and effectively support the faculty and staff of the MBI-UF in their research, education and clinical programs.
MBI-UF Instructional SupportThrough a collaboration with other UF faculty and staff support units, CITS will assist in the provision of technical assistance and in the development, acquisition, installation and maintenance of software and hardware for use in the instructional activities held in the MBI-UF's Multimedia Auditorium (MMA), Multimedia Conference Rooms, Multidisciplinary Simulation and Computer Laboratory, Surgical Training and Research Laboratory, Human Patient Simulator Teaching Laboratory and in other areas as needed.
MBI-UF Research SupportThrough a collaboration with other UF faculty and staff support units, the MBI-UF CITS will assist in the provision of access to the most updated computing and information technology for use in the research programs of MBI-UF faculty. Specialized attention will be placed in diagnostic image processing, 3D data visualization, graphics modeling and simulation, functional MRI processing, computer aided surgery, and computational neuroscience. High end computer support will be emphasized.
MBI-UF Clinical SupportThrough a collaboration with Shands/Health Care and other UF clinical administrative units, the MBI-UF CITS will assist in the provision of technical assistance and in the development, acquisition, installation and maintenance of software and hardware for use in the clinical activities of MBI-UF faculty. Increased attention will be placed on those clinical activities which are clearly linked to the research and/or educational programs of the MBI-UF.
MBI-UF Administrative Information SupportThe CITS will provide the MBI-UF administrative staff with the requisite technical support for the database management of personnel, grants and contracts, philanthropic contributions and earnings, commercial and clinical fiscal matters, general use equipment and all MBI-UF space. Included within these services will be an interface with the UFHSC SPAN/Oracle database and assistance with the fiscal management of the MBI-UF's research and education core facilities. |
